Dr. Soyini Richards is a licensed School Psychologist and Business Psychologist with nearly three decades of experience spanning psychological assessment, education, as well as human development. She is also an accomplished professor, philanthropist, and advocate committed to strengthening individuals while advancing educational communities.

A native New Yorker now based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Dr. Richards earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Howard University and holds a Ph.D. in Business Psychology.

Dr. Richards began her career as a School Psychologist with District of Columbia Public Schools, providing psychological assessments, consultation, and intervention services. Throughout her career, she has worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, educators, and schools to better understand learning, behavior, development, and individual strengths.

Professor Richards Consulting provides comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Evaluations may address concerns related to learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, giftedness, developmental differences, behavioral concerns, and other areas affecting learning or daily functioning.

With nearly 30 years of experience as a School Psychologist, Dr. Richards approaches assessment as more than a process of identifying a diagnosis. Each evaluation is designed to provide greater clarity, identify strengths and areas of concern, and offer meaningful recommendations for next steps.

Dr. Richards also brings more than 25 years of higher education experience to her practice. She has served as both a professor and administrator, with more than 25 years of teaching experience at institutions including Howard University, Georgetown University, Spelman College, the University of the District of Columbia, and the College of New Rochelle. Her academic background in psychology, research, and statistics further informs her evidence-based approach to assessment.
